We are cuurently flying high over the deserts of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East on our flight from Abu Dhabi to Chicago while many of you are fast asleep. As I look out at the marvelous works of God’s creation, it causes me to pause and reflect.
I have been so blessed beyond belief to see and do the things that God has allowed me to be a part of on this trip and over all my mission trips. He allowed me to sit at the foot of Mount Everest and to watch the sun rise above her every morning from my hotel room. God has allowed me to watch children take their first elevator ride. God has allowed me to get biten by a leech and I really do mean that and I carry any wound proudly because of the things God has done in my life. God has allowed me to sit and have breakfast in Abu Dhabi. And one of my greatest gifts, God has given me a soul mate to enjoy all these adventures with and someone that is willing to go along with all my crazy dreams.
As this trip quickly draws to a close and I look forward to the next adventure He sends me on, I pause again to realize how unworthy I am to do this work. But that is what is so wonderful about our God, it is by His Grace that I can do such work and I do not need to be worthy, I just have to trust Him and follow Him and He will do it all. I just get to go along for the ride of a lifetime.
I also sit and ponder the horrible shooting down of the Malaysian jetliner and again realize that could be any of us at any given moment in our lives. And if that was to be us today, I would still be so thankful for everything in my life. I pray it does not happen because I think I still have lots of work to do and still want to spend time with all my family and friends. But all is in God’s hands and I know He knows best.
Thank you for following us on our trip. We pray that each of you will have more understanding of the problems in Nepal and with human trafficking. We also pray that each of you can develop a deeper relationship with God and that you too would find your calling and your passion in Him. If these words touch something within you but you don’t know what to do, go talk with someone at your local church and they can help you find what you are looking for, or contact me at yvonne@orphanreliefeffort.org and I will help as I can. We are also always looking for more people to help us with our work with orphans so feel free to contact us for that also.
God bless each and everyone of you and we pray the Lord to allow you to become a part of His great work. The ride is amazing.
You and Bill are incredible human beings and I’m grateful that I’ve met you both. Keep up the great work you do. I’m glad you’ve had the opportunity to see so many wonderful things. God bless you and keep you both safe.
