Royalty

I saw Prince Charles and his wife today in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I was so excited to see them. Since I was a young girl I have followed the royal family. As a young teen I ever had a scrap book I made with articles and photos of the Queen and her family cut out of magazines and newspapers. A photo of the event is attached below.

Royalty is usually admired and held in high esteem even though we don’t know anything about them personally. Many of our fairy tales show a prince riding up to rescue some girl. They get married and ride off into the sunset together to live happily ever after. It is this type of dream world which many young girls grow up expecting to live in for themselves. These same girls can grow up to be disappointed in life when it does not live up to their dreams.

I don’t need to watch the royal families. And I don’t need to long to be a part of such a life. I am already royalty. God is King of all Kings and since I have accepted Christ into my life, I am a daughter of a king. As the daughter of a king, I must learn to live as part of a royal family. We are the king’s ambassadors as we walk this land. We must always act in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. And when the time is right, the Lord will call us home to live with Him for all eternity.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praised of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
