Psalm 77:12 “I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”
As I prayed about ideas for my blog today, I kept thinking back over our incredible journey working with orphans. So I decided I would do a little reflecting today. God is mighty indeed.
We started our work in Nepal in 2008. Grace Children’s Home was started soon after that with Pastor Martin as our caretaker. Here is a photo of the children when we first started working with them followed by a photo from 2011 and a current photo of the children. We started with just 6 children in a very tiny apartment. We now have 22 children in a three story house that we rent in Kathmandu. One amazing thing is that all six of our original children are still with us. Looking back at these photos really reminds me of the work that the Lord is doing in Nepal. We serve an awesome God.
Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
We starting working with orphans in Myanmar in 2010 and Home of Hope was soon established. Pastor Go Pau is the caretaker of our Myanmar home. I only have individual photos of the children from the beginning of this project and a few of those are below. Followed by more recent group photos. In the beginning the children were very malnourished and did poorly in school. Now they are thriving thanks to God’s blessings. This home also started in a very poor, falling down building. We were able to raise funds to improve the house so that it no longer rains inside. Very recently, we have been able to add solar panels to the home and they have electricity in the home for the first time.
1 Corinthians 1:9 “God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Our newest adventure is working with an orphanage in Sierra Leone called Endless Hope. So far, we have helped them with a few projects and some of the children. We are not fully supporting them yet but pray that the Lord will allow us to help more in the future. We have helped them with Ebola cleaning supplies, school supplies for all the children, new bunk beds that allowed them to take in a few recent orphans. We were also able to provide surgery for a baby abandoned at the home that had been abused. These photos show the children, the building and the bunk beds we provided through donations.
Sometimes I can get so wrapped up in the oversight of these homes, I forgot about all the miracles that the Lord has done through this work. It is good to reflect on the works of His hands and to give Him thanks for all He has done. God has been so gracious to us for providing us with so many wonderful donors. So thank you for your part and thank you God for providing for these special children. We are blessed.
James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
May the Lord Bless you and keep you.

Matthew 28:19 “Therefore, GO and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
