Look at the birds

Matthew 10:29 “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care.”

We have a nest outside our front door. When the birds first started to build the nest, my husband wanted to knock it down because of the mess it would make so close to our front door. I asked him not to because there might already be babies in the nest. A few days later, I noticed a few little mouths sticking out of the nest. We had 4 baby barn swallows in the nest. It has been fun to watch them grow even if mom and dad birds do not like us coming outside to look at them. And yes they have made a mess on our front porch. The attached photo is not very clear but I try not to get too close to upset all the birds.

These baby birds are reminding me of the verse in Matthew 10:29. God sees our birds and He cares for them. I am so glad we did not destroy the nest in the beginning so that God could use them to remind us of our worth. The rest of the passage in Matthew 10:30-31 states “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” God cares about everything that happens to the sparrows and He cares about everything that happens to us. We matter to God. This is such an amazing thought, the creator of universe care about the sparrows and about us. Take heart, you are important to God and He cares about every move you make. God is our protector and our hope. And since are birds are swallows, I remember the words of William Shakespeare “True hope is swift, and flies with swallow’s wings.”

May the Lord Bless you and keep.
