Mark 10:27 “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
Droughts, famines, earthquakes, hurricanes, war! Words like these inspire fear within us as we ponder such events. News broadcast bring vision of these into our homes on an almost daily basis. The problems of the world appear overwhelming at times. Sometimes I feel lost at the enormity of each problem. I freeze in place unsure of how I can make a difference. Can I stop any of these from happening? Many times, I just give up in frustration since I cannot change the world. It is just easier to do nothing since I can’t fix it all.
As the Gospel of Mark shows us “With man this is impossible, but not with God.” With God, all things become possible. God does not call us to change the world; He calls us to help Him change the world for just one person at a time. The problems of the world can be enormous so we must focus on the enormity of our God. God can use each one of us to help one person. Over time, all of us making an effort for God will change the world. We just need to start helping a little bit at a time. Mother Teresa said it so well, “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
May the Lord Bless you and keep.
