John 14:2-3

2″In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3“If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”

Preparations for Christmas are in full swing at my house. The Christmas tree stands majestically in the corner of my living room while the outdoor lights twinkle under the moonlit sky. Presents wrapped in brightly colored bags wait patiently for Christmas morn to reveal their hidden contents.

Christmas preparations are also underway in each of our orphanages. Decorations will be sparse and no trees laden with ornaments to mark the holiday. Instead, their quiet celebrations will center on a special meal shared together and a single present for each child. The celebrations are smaller than ours but still filled with the Joy of Christ.

As I prepare my heart for the arrival of the baby Jesus on Christmas morn, I envision the place Christ is preparing for me in His heavenly realms. Jesus is preparing a place where I can spend eternity with Him, celebrating everyday as if it was Christmas morning. I picture all those who have gone on before me together again like one big family Christmas party. Is Christ preparing a place for you? Take time this Christmas season to seek Him. He would love to prepare a place for you also.
