Ezekiel 36:26 “And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.”
The AIDS epidemic in sub-Sahara Africa left behind 11 million orphans. Almost an entire generation became orphans. Eight out of ten AIDS orphans resided in this part of the world. The big question now is what will become of this generation in the future. How will all the suffering affect them socially, emotionally and economically? When you meet one of these orphans in Kenya, they appear void of emotions. They seem to have lost heart for life. They go through the daily motions of living but do not live. They just exist. Their entire world is focused on survival only. What kind of parents will these children be in the future? What kind of workers will they make? What kind of citizens will they be? They have become a lost generation with a very questionable future.
Africa is not the only place to see people with orphaned hearts. As I look around my city, I witness many people going through the motions of life. They never seem to live life to the fullest. These lost souls focus on surviving to the next paycheck or the next weekend or the next anything. They have lost all signs of joy. Most of these people have lost their Father, their Heavenly Father. They feel orphaned from their Creator and now wander the earth as a lost generation too. God wants to adopt all people into His family and give them a new heart. A heart filled with His peace and His joy no matter the circumstances of this life. His stands ready to sign the adoption papers if you only just ask Jesus to come into your orphaned heart today. Are you willing to exchange that orphaned heart for a new one?
Proverbs 15:13 “A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.”
May the Lord Bless you and keep.
